Varsha Anand
Craftsmanship

The human value behind the saree.

VARSHA ANAND celebrates the richness of Bhagalpuri silk. Our creations are designed by thoughtfully selecting the most suitable Bhagalpuri silk — Pure Tussar, Ghichha Tussar, or Katiya Silk — based on the design intent, craftsmanship and customer experience. Every material is respected as part of Bhagalpur’s weaving heritage.

The Process

Six stages, none of them hurried.

Process narrative written from the approved Material, Quality, Packaging and Photography philosophies. No timings, artisan counts or locations are claimed beyond what the House has documented.

  1. 01

    The Silk

Bhagalpuri silk is selected for the design — Pure Tussar, Ghichha Tussar or Katiya — by intent rather than by cost.

  2. 02

    The Warp

Thousands of threads are dressed onto the loom by hand. The warp decides the drape long before the first pick of weft.

  3. 03

    The Weave

Handwoven on traditional looms. The rhythm of the loom is what gives tussar its living, irregular surface.

  4. 04

    The Hand

Where a collection calls for it, artists work directly onto the woven silk — as in MITHILA, where every piece is hand-painted.

  5. 05

    Finishing

Every saree passes strict inspection for weaving, finishing, colour consistency, craftsmanship and presentation.

  6. 06

    Presentation

Folded, wrapped in muslin and boxed with its authenticity documentation, so the piece arrives as an heirloom already.
